Get involved

As a not for profit organisation, Class Act depends heavily on the help of volunteers to continue to provide quality performing arts for Blackpool’s young people.  Currently we have superstars Danielle, Holly, and Steve who help out regularly within the Saturday classes. The class volunteers help within the lesson to give extra support to those children who may need it.

We also have "The friends of Class Act" who are a voluntary committee who organise our fundraising events and donate to Class Act to enable us to keep our classes at an assessable level.

Class Act also has other opportunities for anyone wishing to volunteer within our organisation.

Here are a few suggestions, but if you feel that you have other skills that you could offer why not give us a ring?

IT assistant

Debbie and Rachel would appreciate your help with the following:

  • Downloading videos, uploading pictures
  • Updating facebook and website
  • General IT advice

Costume assistants

Class Act does not believe in asking parents to pay extortionate amounts for their child’s costumes, as we have identified that this can be a great strain on families. All our costumes are paid for out of the money raised by "The Friends of Class Act" which allows the parents to enjoy the shows we produce. Class Act needs someone who is willing to give up their time to co-ordinate a costume appeal and collect a variety of costumes for forthcoming shows. We also need some volunteers to make some of the costumes as we approach Showtime.

Many hands make light work and Rachel, Stella and Jane would appreciate some more hands!

Marketing and PR

This would involve assisting with the marketing and promotion of Class Act as a whole and more especially when we approach show time, so if you have some expertise and time to spare we would welcome you with open arms!

Please contact us if you think you could help us out.

Safety first

All volunteers are subject to an enhanced CRB check and have a volunteer introduction from a member of staff.

Our doors are open to everyone; to book your place call or email. See our events timetable for dates and times.
